For owners of established businesses · Twenty questions · Five minutes
The AI Value and Risk Scorecard
Your staff are already using AI. The question a bank, a buyer, an insurer or an auditor will ask is not whether you use it, but whether you can show that you control it. This scorecard tells you how close you are to that answer today.
How it works
Twenty statements, one at a time, then your result by email.
1 · Answer
Each statement appears once you have answered the one before it. Choose the answer that is true right now, not the one you intend to make true. No means you have not done it, or you do not know. Partly means you have started, or it is true for some tools or some people. Yes means it is done, written down and somebody owns it.
2 · Tell Searon where to send it
After the last statement you give your name, business email and mobile number. Searon reads every scorecard that comes in, so your answers go to her and nobody else.
3 · Read your result
Your score out of 40, the band it puts you in (Exposed, Developing, Controlled or Evidenced), a breakdown by section, the three actions for your band and the question an outsider is most likely to ask you first, all in one email.
Who should answer
The owner or managing director, ideally with the person who looks after IT or operations beside them. Where you disagree on an answer, take the lower score. A buyer's due diligence team will.
A due diligence team is the group a buyer sends to inspect a business before money changes hands.
What the five sections cover
Find asks whether you know every AI tool in the business. Control asks what each one is allowed to touch. Prove asks whether you can show it. Value asks whether your software, data and AI count as assets. Resilience asks what happens when something goes wrong.
